The United States involvement in Vietnam began in 1950, during the French Indochina War. It was France's attempt to reestablish its rule in Vietnam after WWII. They were seeking to strengthen their ties with France and help stop the spread of communism. The United States had tried to help the Vietnam War effort by providing economic support and by sending in troops. Japan's involvement in the Vietnam War included the use of bases in Okinawa to use as launching points for the U.S. army. Japan mostly served as the repair facilities for U.S. tanks and ships
China's interest in Vietnam began in the 1940's when communism began to take control. The Communist Party of China assisted and provided supplies and material to the Vietnam communists to show how both shared the same political belief. They provided ninety thousand rifles to the Hanoi. They had rebuilt and defend North Vietnam during the war.
The USSR had the same ideology as the North Vietnamese. They provided them with support and aid. They dispatched atleast 3,000 troops
